DESCRIPTION:FHARC has established a monthly regional 40-meter radio net to practice local and regional communications.  Participation has gradually expanded beyond Butler County to include operators in other Kansas counties and Oklahoma. \nIt is held on the third Sunday of the month at 1500 CT on 7.245 MHz\, depending on propagation\, and obtaining a clear frequency.  Check https://www.netlogger.org/ for exact frequency and time.  Barb (KDØWAU) will confirm frequency on the groups.io and on text 10 minutes before the net if possible.

DESCRIPTION:Come by the Schlueter’s anytime during the Kansas QSO Party on August 29 (9:00 AM–9:00 PM) or August 30 (9:00 AM–3:00 PM)! \nWe’ll be operating under the WØT callsign with John’s portable tower and one radio. Whether you’d like to get on the air or help with logging\, it’s a fast-paced event and a lot of fun for operators of all experience levels. \nDon’t worry about going hungry—we’ll have something available for breakfast\, lunch\, and dinner\, so come stay for a while\, enjoy some good food\, and experience the excitement of the Kansas QSO Party. \nWe’d love to have you join us\, whether you can stop by for an hour or spend the whole day! \nRead story and see photos from the 2025 KS QSO Party. \n \nThe Kansas QSO Party is an annual amateur radio operating event that brings together hams from across Kansas and around the world. During the contest\, Kansas operators try to make as many contacts as possible with stations in other states\, Canadian provinces\, and DX locations. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy friendly competition\, sharpen operating skills\, and showcase Kansas on the amateur radio bands. \nHeld each year on the last full weekend of August\, the Kansas QSO Party features activity on multiple amateur radio bands using CW (Morse code)\, SSB (voice)\, and digital modes. Participants earn points for each valid contact\, with bonus points available for working designated stations.
