SUMMARY:Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Field Day activities at Bern’s Barn on June 27th.  Bern will open the barn at 10 a.m. for setup and we will begin operating at 1:00 p.m.  The club will provide lunch and Bern is planning to cook burgers for dinner around 5 p.m. \nThe 2026 ARRL Field Day\, the premier amateur radio communications event\, takes place on the weekend of June 27–28\, 2026. The 27-hour event begins at 18:00 UTC on Saturday and runs through 20:59 UTC on Sunday. Here are the Field Day rules. \nThe annual event is part picnic\, camp-out\, and a practice session for emergency communication when standard infrastructure fails. During Field Day\, over 30\,000 “hams” set up temporary stations in public parks\, schools\, and remote locations across the US and Canada. \nWe will be operating as a Class D station using the club callsign: KB0VAC.  We will likely be operating FT8 as well as SSB and might have other activities including practicing WinLink. \n

SUMMARY:Winlink Wednesday
DESCRIPTION:Winlink Wednesday is a amateur radio digital net where check-ins are accomplished by using the Winlink (global email via amateur radio) system. \nWinlink is a radio-based messaging network that allows licensed amateur radio operators to send and receive messages\, forms (including ICS forms)\, and attachments when internet service is unavailable.  Using radios\, computers\, tablets\, or smartphones\, operators can relay information locally or connect through high-frequency (HF) radio networks to reach outside a disaster zone where internet access remains available. \nFHARC has established a temporary FM Winlink Gateway (KDØWAU-10 ON FREQUENCY 145.080) and is conducting member education and practice exercises. \nThe primary purpose of Winlink Wednesday is to encourage the regular use of the Winlink system\, expand your skills with Winlink\, and practice on a regular basis. SUMMARY:40 Meter Net on the 3rd Sunday of the month
DESCRIPTION:FHARC has established a monthly regional 40-meter radio net to practice local and regional communications.  Participation has gradually expanded beyond Butler County to include operators in other Kansas counties and Oklahoma. \nIt is held on the third Sunday of the month at 1500 CT on 7.245 MHz\, depending on propagation\, and obtaining a clear frequency.  Check https://www.netlogger.org/ for exact frequency and time.  Barb (KDØWAU) will confirm frequency on the groups.io and on text 10 minutes before the net if possible.
