DESCRIPTION:Come on by the Schlueter’s anytime on Aug 30 (9 to 9) & 31 (9 to 3) for the KS QSO Party. It is fast paced and alot of fun both operating and logging. We will have John’s portable tower and one radio. \n \nThe Kansas QSO Party is an annual amateur radio contest where operators from Kansas make as many contacts as possible with stations across the U.S. and beyond. It’s a fun way for radio enthusiasts to engage in friendly competition\, test their skills\, and promote Kansas on the airwaves. \nThe event typically takes place on the last full weekend of August\, with participants using various modes like CW (Morse code)\, SSB (voice)\, and digital communications across multiple frequency bands. DESCRIPTION:We are meeting this year at Bern and Shin-Ae’s Barn for our annual Christmas Dinner. \nCome join us to celebrate the Christmas holiday at the Barn.  Spouses are invited and guests are welcome.  Interest prospective hams also invited. \nWe will be taking a look at what we have been doing this year and what the future will hold for the Flint Hills Amateur Radio Club. \nBarb & Wayne will provide the Hog Wild barbeque\, sauce and rolls. \nWe need to get a count of who will be attending and what everyone will be bringing to share.  RSVP to Barb (KDØWAU) with what you can bring.

SUMMARY:Field Day
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Field Day activities at Bern’s Barn on June 27th.  Bern will open the barn at 10 a.m. for setup and we will begin operating at 1:00 p.m.  The club will provide lunch and Bern is planning to cook burgers for dinner around 5 p.m. \nThe 2026 ARRL Field Day\, the premier amateur radio communications event\, takes place on the weekend of June 27–28\, 2026. The 27-hour event begins at 18:00 UTC on Saturday and runs through 20:59 UTC on Sunday. Here are the Field Day rules. \nThe annual event is part picnic\, camp-out\, and a practice session for emergency communication when standard infrastructure fails. During Field Day\, over 30\,000 “hams” set up temporary stations in public parks\, schools\, and remote locations across the US and Canada. \nWe will be operating as a Class D station using the club callsign: KB0VAC.  We will likely be operating FT8 as well as SSB and might have other activities including practicing WinLink. \n
